Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal ‘Out of the Blue’ campaign www.cancerappeal.org.uk Overview With the launch of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal’s (WPHCA) newest campaign ‘Out of the Blue’, Tarique Chowdhury, Charity Director, approached us with clear ideas on the campaign’s philosophy but with a clean slate in terms of how this would be communicated visually. The Brief To create an iconic, recognisable and approachable identity that would appeal to the general public and potential donors. Results Following extensive consultation with Tarique and his team in order to fully understand the brief, the campaign and the background of WPHCA, we began by presenting a mood board of the direction we felt the visuals should take. This allowed us to break down the development of the final logo and created an opportunity for the campaign’s team to interact with that development. We felt the logo should be taken to its simplest levels and should be as recognisable to all ages and cultures as possible, without alienating. Tarique commented: "Printing.com has designed a very clear look and feel for what are the extremely complex and sensitive issues of male cancer. This identity is clean and bold and will enable us to focus minds on an area that is often overlooked. We want to fill in the knowledge gap so we can raise the vitally needed funds to support those men for whom cancer strikes ‘Out of the Blue’ and across all generations and backgrounds." |
