There are numerous activities in the area - most of them outdoor

Waterskiing/Wakeboarding and other watersports

The area is really popular with waterskiers and wakeboarders. As this part of this lochis quite a way from the public slipways in Balloch, there are much fewer boats around creating swells and choppiness than at the south end of the loch. With such a big loch, you can almost always find a protected shore with smooth water regardless of the weather conditions.

The loch is popular for most forms of watersports, including windsurfing, sailing, kayaking/canoeing

Golf

There are numerous golf courses within an hours drive of the lodge. The closest are in Drymen - less than 30 minutes aways. Details of all the local courses with public access can be found here

Walking/Climbing/Hill Walking

West Highland Way

The West Highland Way passes within about 15ft of the lodge, and is very popular for local walks

Ben Lomond

The lodge lies 5 minutes from the foot of the path leading up Ben Lomond. This is relatively straightforward walk and is suitable for walkers of all abilities.

Other Walks

There are numerous walks within the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

Speedboat tours

These pick up from the Rowardennan public jetty daily, and offers tours of the islands and shores of Loch Lomond. Please visit their website for more information - Speedboat Tours

Fishing

Loch Lomond is a mecca for Fishermen. It's famous for its Salmon and Trout, but also offers coarse fishing for Pike, Perch, Chub, Roach and Dace. A permit is required for Salmon and Trout fishing - this can be obtained at any of the National Park centres. Traditional clinker built fishing boats can be hired from Macfarlanes boat yardin Balmaha.
